Equine Health Option Course Rubric 
The Veterinary Technology Department at NCTA builds its rubrics to guide students and instructors on course expectations and intended outcomes. Rubrics provide a point of reference that measure students' work and provide a collaborative starting point for faculty and the student. Each instructor evaluates a student's performance based on a full range of criteria that is tied to the University of Nebraska goals and NCTA values. The NCTA Veterinary Technology department utilizes five rubrics as a guidelines for instructors to evaluate and provide feedback on student learning outcomes. Student acquires a broad understanding of entrepreneurship skills and is able to apply along with leadership skills practical application into the coursework.
Practitioner

Student integrates entrepreneurship and leadership ideas and perspectives from variety of sources. Demonstrates a high degree of leadership in class.
Expert

Student fully integrated entrepreneurship and leadership ideas and perspectives from variety of sources. Demonstrates leadership in class and mentorship to other students
Networks and Bio-based

Economy Understanding

Student demonstrates little or no understanding of networks in relation to a Bio-based economy
Novice

Student demonstrates a basic understanding and incorporation of networks in a bio-based economy into work
Apprentice

Student acquires a general understanding of networks in a bio-based economy and is able to address broad knowledge to applicable situations.

Student acquires a broad understanding of networks in a bio-based economy and is able to apply knowledge and theory both in and outside of the classroom.
