About Me | I am from Virginia, but moved to Illinois in August for graduate school. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2004 with a double major in Biology and Animal Science. I am currently a Masters student in Animal Science at the University of Illinois, and I am doing dairy cow research.
Teaching Experience | At Virginia Tech, I was an undergraduate teaching assistant for two classes: Animal Physiology and Anatomy and Animal Breeding and Genetics. I was also a university-employed tutor for three years; Virginia Tech has a free tutoring service available to all lower classmen. I tutored biology, chemistry (general and organic), and calculus.
Related Experience | I spent the past three summers interning at the National Institutes of Health, which is the federal government's biomedical research branch. I did research on lab animals and *gasp* actually got to apply stuff I had learned in my undergraduate classes. |
